Why Do Fools Fall In Love?

Why Do Fools Fall In Love?

“It should not be denied that the ugliness and the deadly routine of traditionless urban civilizations engendered often a nostalgic thirst in man for beauty and romance, and this may be the reason for the enormous power of Eros in the technicized world. In the shadow of soul-murdering offices and workshops, of desolate railway yards and “main streets,” without character and expression, love becomes the only emotional experience and woman the only living memory of nature and a paradise lost”

-The Menace of the Herd, or Procrustes at Large, Francis Stuart Campbell

All you need is her right? Everything would be perfect

Do you believe this?

All you need is him. Everything would be perfect. Do you believe this? You need her so bad it hurts. A girl that fits the aesthetic. A goth doomer girl.  Her black lipstick, short skirt and long sleeves are all too real. Her mind is clouded by depression, creating apathy towards most people and activities. Her social life is abysmal. She can barely take care of herself.

You need him so bad it hurts. A man made cobbled out of stone. A traditional strong man. A chad. His large biceps, tall starcher, and large frame are all too real. His mind is flowing with ambition. The world is his oyster. He loves his family. He’s physically healthy.

She was popular in high school, and in every other corner of life. Her social skills are top notch. The prettiest in the class. Never had any problems in life and struggle is unknown to her. Constantly happy and sadness only comes when it’s expected of her. She’s the girl next door.

He is antisocial and wiry. The obstacles in his path are plentiful and the reward to overcome is minuscule. Throughout his life he has not had many good experiences interacting with others. Those few he cherishes and curses himself for flunking the test. An incel raised online. His politics are edgy and his spirit is failing.

These are caricatures to be sure. But why did I draw them? I wanted to present broad stokes of genres of people that embody generation Z. These are who are expected to carry on the next generation. Of course they’ve existed in some since forever. Times have changed though. Let’s say these imaginary people never “find love”.

Seeing how the culture is and rising divorce rates. Maybe it doesn’t seem worth it. They pursue success in work, finances, fame, or maybe just in some vague niche. These people are still left with holes in their hearts for something. Neglecting the spiritual, as the times have tried to push for it going extinct. They still yearn for Eros.

Love has been paraded by the atheistic left as a chemical to make a mate. While this is true is some sense. To disregard it in this manner is harmful. You shouldn’t put it on a pedestal as Hollywood shows either. It does have its place as the bedrock of society and our existence on Earth.
